Joshua Nathaniel Wright was born on August 5th 1983 in Hahn Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. He is currently a native of New Iberia, Louisiana. He is the middle son of three brothers. This organization allowed Joshua to express himself through song, praise and worship, and devotion to God. The gospel choir was also the birthplace of his artist name "The GospelJukeBox". There was a fellow choir member who would always say that Joshua knew every song at practice. He would later call him a walking singing Gospel jukebox. Joshua thought this would be a nice stage and artist name for him, and has been using it since its conception.
Once Joshua departed ways from ULL, he began his journey into the Iberia Parish Public School system as a substitute teacher for Pre-K through 12th grades. He would later land a permanent position as a Para-Professional/Job Coach in the Special Educatin Department at the Alternative Center, New Iberia Senior High School, Belle Place Middle School, and the Career Services Vocational School. He would pursue those roles for four years and then leave the public school sector. In junction with teaching, Joshua found the time to attend graduate school at Liberty University where he graduated in the Spring of 2012 with a Master's of Arts in Theological Studies degree. Upon receving this degree, Joshua solidified his position as an ordained licensed minister. This was a calling he had answered at his family's church, New Zion Missionary B.C. (The late Rev. Edward Turiac), many years prior to attending seminary.
In the midst of working, Joshua never lost sight of his musical aspirations. He has appeared on many popular singing show competitions: American Idol, the Voice, Sunday Best, X-Factor, and Gospel Dream. He has aslo had the opportunity and pleasure to sing for and work with such artists as Dorinda Clark-Cole, Jason Nelson, Kurt Karr, and Vicki Winans. Joshua as sung and performed at various funtions all over to share his gift of music.

In this musical about the singer's life, he had to sing, act, and dance. In 2015, he played Asagai in the hit Broadway adaptation of "A Raisin in the Sun".
