Do you know who you are? That's an age old question we ask ourselves from time to time. According to William Shakespeare's "Hamlet", there is a phrase, "To thine own self be true." I believe this means be real and true to yourself. Don't let society or anyone dictate who you are and that you aren't enough. Self-love, care, and self-preservation is key. You have to love the skin you are in. God's love for you is also essential; accepting the way he made you. I can remember a time where I struggled with my own identity. I wanted to become someone I was not. I considered myself to be a master of deception and identites. I would be faking to be someone else around different groups of people to fit into that crowd. This was a very tiresome task. I've learned now to accept my flaws and all and truly embrace my individuality. Another example would be how uncomfortable I was with my speaking voice. I thought it was too soft and at times feminine. I would try to go around and add alot of bass to my voice to fit into what was the stereotypical males voice. Today I can proudly say I'm comfortable with the speaking voice God has given me.
